ABOUT

Louis Younge is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and session musician based in Dublin. Creating work which spans most of the musical spectrum, he has quickly become one of the most sought-after musicians in the city, appearing as a collaborator with many of the most prominent acts in the scene. His multi-instrumental ability (violin, saxophone, keyboards, guitar, bass) has led to regularly performing, recording, writing and producing with with the likes of David Keenan, Lea Heart, Tolu Makay, Gemma Dunleavy, Shiv and Khakikid.

Louis plays full-time in two bands. Bricknasty, whose recent debut EP ‘in a crueler’, a heartbreakingly honest commentary on the reality of growing up in an addiction-plagued Ballymun family, has catapulted them into festivals and headline shows all over the EU, are currently writing their debut album, which aims to be just as thematically and culturally relevant.  4-piece alt-rocks outfit Sky Atlas, in which Louis plays keyboards, saxophone and violin, have played many of the major festivals in the country over the past five years, and plan on releasing their first body of work in the first half of next year.

As a composer, Louis has worked in both the theatrical and TV spaces, most notably composing and producing original music for the Channel 4 show ‘Britain’s Beautiful Rivers: Richard Hammond’, which first aired in 2022. The show was received very well by UK media, with the score being described as ‘a quiet, folky treat’.

Although Louis fills various different roles in the musical landscape, his goal is always to create work which has inherent meaning and value, and it is this above all else that drives him to make the work he makes.
